Chief Financial Officer and co-founder
As CFO of Extanto, Ben is responsible for the business of the company including negotiating contracts and managing the company's relationships. Ben is a veteran of the International Banking, Print, and Software industries. He has collaborated with Fortune 500 companies developing and deploying information sharing programs. He has lobbied Federal and State agencies as Executive Director of RAINS, The Regional Alliances for Infrastructure and Network Security, a non-profit based in Portland, Oregon chartered to promote the Homeland Security industry cluster. He served as Program Manager for the RAINS/Oregon Emergency Management Tsunami Warning System and Project Manager for the RAINS/TSA Port Security communications project for the Columbia River system. He has substantial executive and consulting experience working with nascent technical and non-technical businesses as they deal with the issues of business planning, branding, growth, product development, and market penetration. He is a graduate of Presbyterian College, a member of the Project Management Institute, and has earned advanced certificates from Cornell University's College of Engineering and Johnson Graduate School of Management.
Chief Operating Officer, co-founder, and Principal Engineer
As Principal Engineer, Kyle builds servers and websites, develops platforms, and advises developers. He shares operations, business development, contractor recruitment/onboarding duties with Extanto’s CFO. Kyle is certified in product development and marketing through the Pragmatic Marketing program used by major companies in Silicon Valley. While a Product Manager at Yahoo!, he developed the Consolidated Payments program, a company-wide initiative that created a bridge between mass market publishers and ad networks. This long-term program gave Kyle key insights into the financial needs and inner workings of a Fortune 500 Corporation as well as specific insight into the financial needs of the full spectrum of its business clients. Kyle worked for Google as a Technical Project Manager in their data center in The Dalles where he negotiated server/rack space and network requirements, built sandwich board machines from scratch, and introduced project management best practices. Kyle served as Division Head for the Advanced Data Integration Division at Lunar Logic in Eugene, Oregon, over which he had responsibility for 23 employees.
Division Head: Content Integration Manager, Quality Assurance
In her ten-year career in the software industry, Melissa has worked as a Project Manager with Lunar Logic, managing products such as the CengageNow learning platform; Samara, an online technical support application; Commander Benchmark, a web-based math learning game; and the SRS database system for Levi Strauss & Company's Procurement Offices. As a Release Operation Specialist for Symantec's Purchasing and Contracting division, Melissa composed process documentation for working within the Oracle database system as well as technical support for sales representatives around the world. Melissa is an experienced project manager and content integration specialist. She has a gift for bringing teams together and making even the toughest jobs flow smoothly. Her educational background is in Intermedia Music Technology from the University of Oregon and she is trained in XML, HTML, Objective-C, and C++. In her spare time, Melissa teaches courses in Music and Post Production at Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon.
